Amanda began her love of helping others during her childhood, and since then, she has built on that passion.  During high school, Amanda became involved with the Youth Group in her church and enjoyed volunteering and joining trips across the country to help others in need. In college, Amanda decided to continue helping others by becoming a police officer. Amanda earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Amanda served in law enforcement for 22 years before retiring to pursue her career in counseling.  During the course of her career, Amanda realized that while she enjoyed working with the community as a first responder, she felt drawn to helping others through counseling. While earning her master's degree, Amanda joined the Walden Pride organization and served as the group's president.

Amanda served as a facilitator and program director for a local youth diversion program for years, which inspired her to pursue her masters degree in counseling. Amanda found a passion in working with teens and their families long before working as a counselor. Amanda approaches therapy in a client focused approach, and enjoys working with her clients to find a solution that will meet their needs. Amanda has a special interest in helping first responders and their families, veterans, and teens, and the LGBTQ+ community. Amanda has worked with women in recovery, and enjoys helping each of her clients reach their unique goals.  She is looking forward to starting her training in EMDR, Gottman’s Method, and/or Imago Couples Therapy.

Amanda is married and has 2 sons. When Amanda is not at work, she can be found camping, golfing or cheering on the Rockets! Amanda’s home is ruled by her dogs and cat.
